On the occasion of the official Founding of the Freiburg Alumni Club of North America,I cordially invite you to join us on
Friday, 20 May 2011, at 6:30 pm
in the German House,
871 United Nations Plaza, New York, NY 10017
(located on First Avenue and 49th Street).
We are very grateful to host the following speakers:
Ambassador Dr. Peter Wittig, Freiburg alumnus and Head of the Permanent Mission of the Federal Republic of Germany to the United Nations,
Prof. Dr. Heiner Schanz, Vice Rector and Prorector for Academic Affairs of the University of Freiburg,
Jeffrey Himmel, President of the Freiburg Alumni Club of North America.
The ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m. with drinks and hors d’oeuvres. Ambassador Dr. Wittig will address the guests at 8:00 pm. Afterwards, there will be a short question and answer session.
In addition to this evening program, we would also like to invite you to join us for a guided tour of the United Nations on Saturday May 21st. Registered participants are asked to meet at the entrance of the German House at 9:30 am.
Starting at 4:00 pm on Saturday, all guests are invited to take part in a wine tasting in the German House featuring a selection of German red wines.
