Research Description

Investigation of molecules potentially involved in the lamination of the developing hippocampus; the molecules of interest include the neurotrophin BDNF and the extracellular matrix protein, neurocan. Laboratory techniques include organotypic slice cultures, axonal pathway tracing and immunocytochemistry.

Beschreibung der Forschung

Untersuchung von Molekülen, die potentiell bei der Lamination/Ausbildung von Zelllagen des sich entwickelnden Hippocampus eine Rolle spielen. Diese Moleküle beinhalten das Neurotrophin BDNF und ein Protein der extrazellulären Matrix, Neurocan. Verwendete Labortechniken: organotypische Schnittkulturen, Darstellung axonaler Pfade und Immunhistochemie.
