Teresa Teklic, M.A.
Teresa Teklic is a doctoral student with Prof. Dr. Philipp Schweighauser at the University of Basel (working title: "The Aesthetics and Politics of Sincerity in Contemporary North American Literature"). She earned her B.A. in English Studies and Philosophy from the University of Bonn and her M.A. in British and North American Cultural Studies from the University of Freiburg. She received ERASMUS funding to study at the University of Sheffield, a PROMOS grant from the German Academic Exchange Service for an internship in Canada, and is currently funded by the University of Basel (Start-up grant for doctoral students). She has previously worked as a student assistant at the Chair of North American Studies at the Univ. of Bonn, and as a tutor and research assistant at the Chair of North American Studies in Freiburg. Her research interests include postmodernism, 21st century literature, contemporary nonfiction (essays, memoirs, autobiography), the New Sincerity, Romanticism, Shakespeare drama, popular culture, and film studies.
