Public History – Public Humanities
Symposium 12 February 2010
The focus of this symposium was on initiatives and thematical approaches to Public History/Public Humanities both as a research field and as area of application. The single talks covered questions such as: Which contents of the humanities are processed in which media and genres? Which channels are used to reach and to create a broad audience? What are the differences and similarities between science and humanities - especially regarding the public understanding of science? Are there new areas of application? And which insights do we get of the relation between institutions and the public? The minutes of the proceedings by Doris Lechner can be accessed on H-Soz-u-Kult (in German).
