Location

The Institute is located in the so -called "Herder Building, Tennenbacher Str. 4

 

By train

From the main station you can take the lines 1 (direction Littenweiler), 3 (to Vauban), 5 (direction Rieselfeld) and leave at the second station (Bertoldsbrunnen). Here you have to switch to line 2 (direction Zähringen) which you leave at the second stop (Tennenbacher Straße) directly in front of a red building with white windows, which is where the Faculty of Forest an Environmental Sciences is located. You find the Institute of Forest and Environmental Policy on the 4th floor in the east wing of the building.



 



By car

Coming from Frankfurt (north) or Basel (south) to Freiburg im Breisgau, take the highway (Autobahn) A5. (Exit No. 62 to "Freiburg-Mitte is the most convenient. On the whole there are 3 exits to Freiburg, so don´t worry if you miss this one). A slip road brings you to the city centre (about 5 km). Follow the signs to the main station (Hauptbahnhof). You have to turn right twice in order to cross the slip road you have used before via a bridge. After approx. 1 km, you pass the main station. At the next crossroads drive straightforward (on the Stefan-Meier Str.) for approx. 2 km. At the third crossroads turn right and follow the “Tennenbacher Straße”. After crossing the “Sautierstraße” you see a big red building with white windows which is where the Faculty of Forest an Environmental Sciences is located. Due to refurbishment and reconstruction there is no official parking lot at the moment.
You find the Institute of Forest and Environmental Policy on the 4th floor in the east wing of the building.
