Clinical Epidemiology in Clinical Biomechanics
Key person: Werner Vach

Clinical biomechanics is one of the fields in medical research, which is hampered by the lack of convincing physiological models to develop treatment strategies and the lack of gold standard procedures to evaluate diagnostic procedures. We contribute to the development and implementation of research strategies, which can be applied in such situations to demonstrate nevertheless the scientific value of procedures in clinical biomechanics. The focus is on the development of algorithms defining objective decision processes and on their validation, for example by reproducibility studies, and on the design of observational studies and clinical trials.
