About Us

The workgroup Medical Informatics is dealing with the processing of medical relevant data, information and knowledge. Medical Informatics support health care, research and teaching with methods and tools of computer science. The scientific focus is based on medical documentation and document investigation; mechanical processing of medical terminology, architecture of classification, terminology and ontology systems, development and evaluation of computer supported teaching material. These subjects demand interdisciplinary and international collaboration with scientists from the fields of biology, medical and computer science, analytical philosophy, linguistics, education science and biometry.
