CV
Michael Sommer received his diploma degree in 2005 in polymer chemistry at the University of Bayreuth, Germany. In 2009 he finished his PhD thesis on semiconducting block copolymers for organic electronic devices under the supervision of Prof. M. Thelakkat at the same University. After a short post-doc period at Bayreuth he joined the group of Prof. W. Huck at the Department of Chemistry, University of Cambridge, UK, in 2010. Two years later he returned to Germany to set up an independent research group in the Department of Macromolecular Chemistry at the University of Freiburg, where he is working toward his habilitation. His research interests include structure-function relationships of conjugated materials for the application in organic opto-electronic devices, sensors, and catalysis.
