Makromolekulares Kolloquium 2018 in Freiburg

"Far-From-Equilibrium Macromolecular Systems"

The coming generations of macromolecular materials will take increasing inspiration from living systems to allow for the implementation of truly active, adaptive, dynamic and self-regulating features. As such they will go beyond the present concepts of relatively static bioinspired materials, in which kinetically controlled states are important, and the move towards complex far-from-equilibrium macromolecular systems exploiting complex signaling and feedback mechanisms as well as chemical fuels will be an inevitable milestone. In this special session, we wish to inspire and fuel discussions and research in this direction by highlighting approaches towards generating structures, functions and materials in far-from-equilibrium systems.

Special Session:
- Anna Balazs (University of Pittsburgh)
- Job Boekhoven (Technical University of Munich)
- Nicolas Giuseppone (Université de Strasbourg)
- Martin Möller (DWI-Leibniz Institute for Interactive Materials)
- Sijbren Otto (University of Groningen)
- John A Pojman (Louisiana State University and CEO of Pojman Polymer Products, LLC)

Further Confirmed Speakers:
- Joseph M. DeSimone (North Carolina State University)
- Sanjay Rastogi (Maastricht University)
- Frederik Wurm (MPI Mainz)
