Dr. Franziska Birke
Franziska Birke finished her dissertation on universal service in telecommunications ("Zum Wandel des Universaldienstes in der Telekommunikation. Eine netzökonomische Analyse") in March 2008. Since December 2007 she has been working for the Dean's office of the Faculty of Economics and Behavioral Sciences of Freiburg University. In addition, she is an adjunct lecturer at the Institute for the International Education of Students (IES) in Freiburg.

Prof. Dr. Gert Brunekreeft
Gert Brunekreeft left the Institute on May 1, 2002. He worked at the Department of Applied Economics der University of Cambridge and at the Tilburg Law and Economics Center (University of Tilburg in the Netherlands). In 2006 he was appointed director of the Bremer Energie Institut and professor for European Utility Management at the International University Bremen.

Dr. Anne Gabelmann
After finishing her dissertation on network access in telecommunications ("Netzzugang in der Telekommunikation. Eine ökonomische Analyse zur Abgrenzung von Marktmachtpotenzialen und Regulierungsbedarf") Anne Gabelmann has left the Institute on April 1, 2002; she now works at Deutsche Telekom AG in Bonn.

Dr. Wolfgang Groß
Wolfgang Groß has left the Institute at the end of 2000, after finishing his dissertation on price differentiation in telecommunications markets ("Preisdifferenzierung auf Telekommunikationsmärkten. Eine wettbewerbsökonomische Analyse"). He now works for Deutsche Telekom AG, Bonn.

Katja Keller has left the Institute in September 2004, after finishing her dissertation on network usage charges in liberalised electricity markets ("Netznutzungspreise in liberalisierten Elektrizitätsmärkten. Eine ökonomische Analyse der Entgelte für das Höchstspannungsnetz"). She has worked for Kema Consulting GmbH, Bonn and now works for Axpo AG in Baden, Switzerland.

Martin Keller has left the Institute in September 2012.
Dipl.-Vw. Martin Kunz
Martin Kunz died unexpectedly in London in 2001. He had left the Institute at the end of 1999 and had worked for the Civil Aviation Authority in London.
Dr. Jutta Merkt
Jutta Merkt finished her dissertation on competition in the local loop ("Wettbewerb im Local Loop. Strukturwandel und Netzwettbewerb in Telekommunikationsnetzen") and left the Institute at the end of 1998.
Dr. Tillmann Neuscheler
Tillmann Neuscheler has finished his dissertation on airports between regulation and competition ("Flughäfen zwischen Regulierung und Wettbewerb. Eine netzökonomische Analyse"); since May 2007 he has been working as an online editor at Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ.NET).

Hans-Jörg Weiß has left the Institute in February 2010. He is now a professor of economics, in particular investment and financing, at the University of Applied Sciences Offenburg.
